Tromba Rija presents an evening of traditional Portuguese flavors and live jazz music.
As the saying goes, necessity is the mother of invention. In the 1960s, before refrigerators were common, a small Portuguese village in Leiria often had leftover meat and beans. Someone invented a stew made from these leftovers, which unexpectedly evolved into a famous Portuguese home-cooked dish called Feijoada. This remarkable stew is part of the breakthrough story that transformed Tromba Rija from a butcher shop and wine tavern into a globally renowned restaurant. Today, the restaurant is run by the founder's daughter, Elisabête Real, and her husband, Fernando Real.
