Jing Wong from Hong Kong, after touring cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Beijing, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Quanzhou, Lijiang, and Taiwan, finally collaborates with the Macau Creative Youth Association to present the 'PLAY WHAT YOU WANT' concert. He will perform alongside local Macau musicians Lobo, Grooviebabie, and Deng Zhifeng at the Old Ladies' House Art Space (Fantang 10), creating a musical weekend for everyone. The concert adheres to Jing Wong's street performance philosophy – no tickets, P(L)AY WHAT YOU WANT.
Jing Wong graduated with First Honours from London's Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design, majoring in Theatre Design and Direction. His music style is influenced by Blues, Folk, and Rock, with notable inspirations from Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Kings of Convenience, and Damien Rice.
In 2004, he won awards including Best Original Song and First Runner-up at Tom Lee's Sound Base Acoustic Band competition and was the champion of the HEARTBEAT Acoustic Band competition. He was an active street performer before being signed to the independent label People Mountain People Sea (founded by Anthony Wong). He has served as the opening act for international folk acts like Kings of Convenience and Andrew Bird.
He released his debut album "Last Breath of Youthful Melancholy [EP+Live CD]" in late 2012, featuring 14 live tracks from his 2011 concert and 3 studio recordings.
