Cinematheque Passion will host its first "International Environmental Film Festival" in April. The festival is guided by the principles of "Environment, Ecology, Sustainability," focusing on environmental issues, climate change, and sustainable development. It features a curated selection of 26 films, including feature films, shorts, documentaries, and animations.
From now until June 11, the third floor of the cinema will host the exhibition "Her in the Light ~ The Extraordinary World of Female Directors," which narrates the increasingly significant role of women in the century-old film industry.
Cinematheque Passion is a space dedicated to film appreciation, local audiovisual preservation, exhibitions, and film book reading. It serves as a platform for communication, exchange, and collaboration among local filmmakers and enthusiasts. In addition to film screenings, exhibitions have become a new element in recent years. The venue features a display on the century-long development of Macao's cinema industry and has previously hosted exhibitions like the "Hand-Painted Movie Billboard Exhibition."
The cinema also offers "Strolling Cinematheque Passion" guided tours and film viewing activities for schools and groups. Led by professional guides, these activities introduce the origins of film, the cinema's operations, the development of the cinema industry, and include screenings of local short films.
