In the Hong Kong and Macau region, Mr. Au Kwan Cheung is the last remaining blind master of "Nanyin Storytelling." As a living fossil of intangible cultural heritage, accompanied by the Macao Chinese Orchestra, Mr. Au will perform in Cantonese, blending singing and speaking to present the traditional storytelling music of the Pearl River Delta region. The audience will have the opportunity to appreciate the unique "Nanyin Storytelling" techniques of Macao, with its distinctive modes and tonal methods that evoke local culture. Set against the residential characteristics of the Mandarin's House, this experience allows you to immerse yourself in Macao's unique heritage through music.
Guangdong Nanyin is further divided into two types: Stage Nanyin (Cantonese Opera Nanyin) and Dishui Nanyin. Stage Nanyin is incorporated into Cantonese opera to suit the plot, usually occupying only a segment of the performance. Dishui Nanyin, on the other hand, tells a complete story.
