Intangible Cultural Heritage: Cantonese Opera (Yueju)
Yueju, or Cantonese Opera, dates back more than 300 years. Distinguished by its bold performing skills, it is beloved throughout southern China, and free performances of this traditional art are especially popular here in Macau. Yueju Opera is listed as one of UNESCO’s ‘Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity’.
