The Cultural Affairs Bureau presents a series of community-based performances in the Inner Harbour and Taipa (specifically the Coloane–Taipa Historical Trail area). Local art groups have created these works to connect community stories and explore local history, offering unique cultural experiences through dance, guided tours, theatre, and puppetry.
A theatrical and dance performance that guides the audience into the life, poetry, and works of French artist Auguste Borget, who visited Macao in 1838. Blending Chinese elements, it vividly recreates the old-world charm of the area from Jardim de Luís de Camões to Patane.
Deities/monsters lead the audience through the neighbourhoods with dance, searching for memories of residents' lives by the sea. The route features lively graffiti elements, showcasing the unique charm of the São Lourenço district.
Inspired by Macao's street stall culture, this performance combines storytelling and interactive activities to explain the origin of the Portuguese Barcelos Rooster, the history of the former "Star Park" in Taipa, and the roots of Macanese cuisine.
Focusing on the "Fountain of Love" at the Taipa Houses-Museum, this performance blends the romantic atmosphere of the area with verses from the epic poem "Os Lusíadas" by Portuguese poet Luís de Camões. It presents a touching, humorous, and culturally blended love story.
A story about a fishmonger who admires a policeman. When they go to a traditional Portuguese celebration together, they encounter a cat trying to steal fish. The performance is presented through drama and interaction with typical Portuguese puppets.
"The Barber" is one of the masterpieces of traditional Portuguese puppet theatre. Using a small tent, several puppets, and their power, the performer tells a story suitable for all ages. A trip to the barber can be terrible, but the protagonist ultimately triumphs after many battles.
