Event Overview

The Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) is hosting the "Joyful Goat Year" New Year celebration series during the Lunar New Year period. This program features four workshops and one lecture, all open for public registration with free admission. It's a wonderful opportunity for citizens to learn together and enjoy family time during this important traditional festival.

Featured Workshops & Lecture

• Family Spring Couplet Workshop (Cantonese): Led by Mr. Choi Chuen Hing, a senior Macau-based calligraphy educator with extensive exhibition experience. Participants will learn the art of writing spring couplets, expressing blessings and wishes for the new year.
• Golden Goat New Year Creative Workshop (Cantonese): Guided by local paper art instructor Ms. Wong Yuk Kuen. Learn to create new images of the Goat zodiac sign through clever folding of ordinary paper or red envelopes.
• Tianjin Lao Meihua Knotted Button Crafting Workshop (Mandarin): Instructor Yang Nan, trained by a master with over 40 years of experience, will teach the complex craft of making traditional Chinese knotted buttons from a single cord.
• Chongqing Qijiang Farmer Printmaking Workshop (Mandarin): Instructor Li Chengzhi, a printmaker since 1984 with over 100 works exhibited internationally. This art form draws from local farmers' lives, featuring bold compositions and vibrant colors.
• Lunar New Year Customs Lecture (Mandarin): Topics include "How Tianjin People Celebrate the New Year" and "The Rich and Colorful Spring Festival Folk Customs of Chongqing."

Registration Details

• Capacity: 50 participants per class/lecture.
• Registration Start Date: January 21 (first-come, first-served).
• Materials: All workshop materials will be provided free of charge.
