The family finally bought a Tong Lau (old tenement building) at the end of the last play, but the elderly protagonist struggles with the steep stairs, and their daughter moves to Tanzhou in Mainland China after marriage. The play ended on a bittersweet note, resonating with many audiences. What will happen to this family next? This leads to the sequel, Living in Macau - 24-Hour Border.
After the implementation of 24-hour border crossing between Macau and Mainland China, connections by land, sea, and air linked the world around the clock. However, a pandemic turned the city into an isolated island. The isolation is not just geographical and physical, but also emotional. The Lou family finds themselves in peril, giving the word 'isolation' multiple layers of meaning.
