A Magnificent Magical Adventure

Ring in the New Year with a magical adventure! The festive ballet classic 'The Nutcracker' makes a grand return. Under the fresh choreography by Australian choreographer Terence Kohler, Hong Kong Ballet's finest dancers will take the stage. Accompanied by Tchaikovsky's iconic score and dreamlike visual elements, this production promises to be the most exciting and fun ballet experience for the whole family this holiday season!

Join siblings Clara and Fritz as they journey into the Kingdom of Toys, getting caught up in a battle between the valiant Nutcracker and the cunning Mouse King. They also encounter the Snow Fairy and a delightful cast of magical dolls… Will the siblings be able to help the Nutcracker defeat the mouse army and reunite with the Sugar Plum Fairy?

This new version retains the beloved magical adventures of the original while introducing innovative twists for added surprise! Acclaimed international choreographer Kohler, winner of Germany's 'Future' Choreographer Award, has created works for top troupes like the Finnish National Ballet and the National Ballet of China. This time, he has created a bespoke new version of 'The Nutcracker' for Asia's premier Hong Kong Ballet, featuring completely redesigned sets and costumes. The fresh visual style breathes modern life into this traditional tale, making it truly unique. Following the success of 'Cinderella' in 2009, Hong Kong Ballet once again brings unforgettable family entertainment with perfect dance and vibrant colors.
