Winner of Tony and Drama Critics' Circle awards for Best Play, Bernard Slade's 'Same Time Next Year' returns to the stage.
A married man and a married woman meet for the first time and share a night of passion. They agree to meet again at the same hotel on the same weekend the following year. This secret annual rendezvous, a blend of physical intimacy and emotional connection, continues for 25 years, from 1974 to 1999. Through their fleeting moments together, they share their lives, support each other through challenges, and witness societal changes, all while their actual time together amounts to less than a month.
"A rare, thoroughly enjoyable theatre experience in recent years. Not a dull moment in two hours. Despite being an adaptation of an American play, it feels seamlessly localised—a rare and successful case." – Critic Li Yee
"An adult fairy tale, rich in entertainment value. Excellent in script, direction, acting, and technical design. Well worth staging again." – Playwright Lee U Leong
