Five stories, sixteen actresses, intertwining into one urban poem after another.
On the journey of life, everyone experiences their own gains, losses, and ups and downs, yet each is a person with a story among the multitude.
'East West' brings together a diverse group of actresses from the Hia Kok Theatre Lab, with ages ranging from 28 to 65. They are experienced performers, as well as individuals with significant responsibilities in their daily lives and careers: kindergarten teachers, insurance agents, producers, accountants, nurses... Each contributes material from their own life experiences, a poem, or a song. Director Hoi Kwok Kuen serves as the playwright, uncovering the hidden connections within each person's material. The stories interweave and intersect, transforming into a multi-layered performance that weaves together into a deeply emotional and nuanced work where much is left unsaid.
