Competition Overview
The 33rd Hanbo Award China International Young Fashion Designer Competition is now open for submissions from Macau. This prestigious event invites young designers to explore the theme '恋地·邻里' (Attachment to Place · Neighborhood).
Competition Theme: Attachment to Place · Neighborhood
Do you feel warmth upon hearing the name of a certain place? Do you have an inexplicable affection for a particular space? It could be the skyline of your hometown against the sunset, the bustling energy of a fresh market, or the scent of a park bench after the rain...
- 'Attachment to Place' explores the complex emotional bonds between humans and specific locations—feelings of love, belonging, identity, or even awe and fear.
- 'Neighborhood' returns to the real-life intersections between people and their surrounding environment, sparking emotional resonance through physical interaction.
The theme aims to convey the 'space' of meaning and memory inherent in a 'place.' Fashion design, as a form of 'space,' also carries the mission of conveying emotion and mood. How can we avoid 'placelessness' in the digital age? What new expressions can fashion design unleash? How can we present narratives through the elements of clothing?
