About the Performance
Hailed by Dance Magazine as “the most ambitious project in the ballet world”, this glamorous piece is interpreted to the sound of an eclectic pallet of composers, from the Romantic energy of Chopin and Schumann to the exoticism of Rimsky-Korsakov and Shostakovich’s enigmatic tunes. The production focuses on the pivotal moment when Nijinsky began to sink into the madness that would eventually lead to his ending.
Since 1973, the Hamburg Ballet has built an extensive repertoire under Neumeier’s visionary direction, setting a new standard both technically and expressively.
