About the Competition
The GMEC Global Mathematics Elite Competition is a prestigious international math contest. The Macau Region Preliminary is organized by First Education Group in collaboration with leading global mathematics institutions.
Organizing Committee
- Art of Problem Solving (AoPS): The largest mathematics organization in the United States.
- Chinese Mathematics Association (CMA): The largest mathematics organization in Asia.
- International Mathematical Association (IMA): A leading international mathematics body.
8 Key Features of the Competition
- A global competition organized by First Education Group alongside Art of Problem Solving, Chinese Mathematics Association, and International Mathematical Association.
- Exam questions are designed by math competition institutions from the USA, UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong, reflecting an international math culture.
- The competition is divided into Mathematics and Olympiad categories, allowing students to showcase their strengths.
- Open to students from kindergarten to high school, covering all grade levels.
- The only international math competition that holds its global finals annually in Hong Kong.
- The highest-scoring participant from each region in the finals gets a chance to attend the GMEC Elite Gala Dinner and have a conversation with a mathematics professor.
- Global First Place (Finals): Wins a full scholarship to the AoPS Summer Math Competition Training Camp in the USA.
- Global Second & Third Place (Finals): Win a full scholarship to the Chinese Mathematics Association Taiwan Math Elite Training Camp.

Competition Groups (March)
- Kindergarten: K1–K3
- Primary & Secondary: P1–S6 (One group per grade level)
Exam Details
- All exam papers are bilingual (Chinese & English).
- Question types include multiple-choice and short-answer.
- Each registered participant will receive one set of practice questions, distributed every Friday. Please check your inbox or spam folder.
