Overview
The GMCC World AI Intelligent Creative Programming Competition 2021 (Hong Kong & Macau Region) is an international contest that combines mathematics and coding for students. Organized by the World Mind Innovation League (WMIL), it aims to foster global exchange in mathematical programming strategies and problem-solving skills.
Competition Objectives
- Strengthen international exchange of mathematical programming strategies among students.
- Collaborate with international applied mathematics scholars to develop problem-solving techniques.
- Develop and share common teaching resources.
- Organize international STEM programming problem-solving activities.
Competition Divisions & Languages
- Senior High School (Grades 10–12): Python, C, C++, VB Express
- Junior High School (Grades 7–9): Python, C, C++, VB Express
- Primary School (Grades 5–6): Scratch 3.0
- Primary School (Grades 3–4): Scratch 3.0
Competition Format
1. Individual Competition (Mathematics & Logic)
- Hong Kong Region Date: December 12, 2020
- Macau Region Date: December 18–19, 2020
- Online Practice Opens: December 7, 2020
- Exam Duration & Questions:
- Grades 10–12: 5 questions within 3 hours
- Grades 7–9: 5 questions within 3 hours
- Grades 5–6: 5 questions within 3 hours
- Grades 3–4: 3 questions within 2 hours
2. Team Competition (Scratch)
- Teams of 2–3 from Primary School divisions.
- Categories: Game Design or Animation.
- All team members must be registered for the individual competition.
Fees & Deadlines
- Individual Competition Fee: HKD 280 / MOP 280
- Team Competition Fee: Free
- Registration Deadline: November 30, 2020
Judging Criteria
- Individual Competition: Correctness, Technique (CPU usage), Efficiency (CPU execution time).
- Team Competition: Creativity, Logic, Artwork, Technique.
Awards
Hong Kong & Macau Preliminary Round
- Gold Award: Top 5%
- Silver Award: Next 15%
- Bronze Award: Next 25%
- All award winners receive a medal and certificate.
International Finals (August 2021)
- Individual World Awards: Cash prizes (Gold: USD 200, Silver: USD 100, Bronze: USD 50) plus trophy and certificate.
- Team World Awards: Trophies and certificates for Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners.
Organizing Committee
A global committee includes organizations from Taiwan, Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Australia, Brazil, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, and Hong Kong/Macau.
