Health & Me Series – Gastric Disease Risk Analysis and Information Session
Introduction
With the accelerating pace of life in Macau, the lifestyle habits of residents have fundamentally changed. A significant increase in workload leading to burdens of life and mental stress, irregular eating habits and schedules, and harmful habits like long-term smoking and alcohol consumption due to stress have all contributed to a rising trend in gastroenterology clinic visits in recent years. If gastric diseases are not detected and treated early, the chance of them developing into cancer increases significantly.
This session aims to conduct preliminary research to explore the risk factors associated with gastric diseases, Helicobacter pylori infection, and the feasibility of serological screening for gastric disease risk.

Important Notes
- The session will explain the research plan to the public, distribute relevant informed consent forms, and conduct surveys after participants agree and sign.
- Interested participants can visit the Oriental X-Ray Laboratory Center before February 28 for blood sample collection for subsequent testing. Upon completion, they will receive a test report valued at MOP 500.
- Light refreshments will be provided to participants as a token of appreciation.
