Organized by the Macau Youth Culture Promotion Association and sponsored by the Macao Foundation of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the "Focus on Cognitive Health, Guard Life Dignity Symposium" will be held on October 20 (Sunday). The event is completely free of charge. Registration is open from now until October 19. Macau students and interested citizens are welcome to register. Participants can obtain a certificate upon completion.

Event Content

The symposium will be held at the University of Macau's Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences (CCBS). The program includes:

• A tour of the centre's brain imaging platform.
• Introduction and demonstration of brain science research instruments such as MRI and EEG machines.
• A simulated experiment scenario, allowing participants to understand the process and rights of subjects involved in local cognitive aging research from a participant's perspective, enabling them to supervise researcher conduct.

This workshop aims to showcase the knowledge and research methods used to explore brain function to Macau citizens, sparking interest in cognitive neuroscience. Familiarizing participants with the centre in advance helps reduce anxiety for future potential lab participants and increases their awareness and understanding of CCBS.
