EXiM 2018 Macau Experimental Video Festival

Since 2011, the EXiM festival has focused on experimental moving images from various regions including Asia, Taiwan, South Korea, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Portugal, and Macau, as well as the four regions of China. It has invited curators from different places to curate a range of screenings, live projections, and multimedia (electronic music, sound + moving image) performances. Genres of work featured include 16mm experimental films, video art, and experimental animation.

This year, Ox Warehouse has moved to a new space – the Post-Ox Warehouse Experimental Site – to continue the event. EXiM 2018 shifts from a screening-focused format to an exhibition format, turning its focus back to local Macau experimental film and video creations. The exhibition invites local artists who have been consistently creating experimental moving images, featuring Macau works previously shown in past EXiM events. It serves as a presentation of a significant passage in Macau's experimental moving image creation.
