"Equilibrium" is the creative concept for this residency by Korean artist Lee Kiho. Equilibrium means a state without bias or tilt. The "equilibrium" explored in this exhibition can be material, social, or psychological. Through reinterpreting the diverse characteristics found within Macau's environment and social spheres, the artist expresses the concept of balance via sculpture, installation, painting, and other mediums. Furthermore, the creator aims to present a fundamental truth central to his artistic vision: that the "differences" between various social consciousnesses are not matters of right or wrong. These differences do not require an "either-or" or "black-and-white" mentality.
Artist Lee Kiho, visiting Macau for the first time, hopes his works will reflect his experiences of exploring different places and exchanging ideas with other artists during his stay.
