Overview
Starting from January 1, 2020, the Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) launched two major recycling initiatives to enhance waste management in Macau.
Electronic and Electrical Equipment Recycling Plan
This plan expands the collection of household electronic and electrical waste.
- Services Offered: Free scheduled door-to-door collection for large appliances is available for residents, schools, non-profit organizations, and government departments.
- Accepted Items:
- Large Appliances: Refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, and televisions.
- Small Appliances: Includes but not limited to dehumidifiers, oil-filled radiators, vacuum cleaners, rice cookers, fans, heating appliances (microwaves, electric heaters, ovens, kettles, induction cookers), and other items like DVD players, game consoles, lamps, clocks, and electric toothbrushes.
- Recycling Network: Convenient drop-off points are established across the city.
Building Recycling Made Easy
Launching in January 2020, this initiative encourages waste separation at the source.
- Program Features:
- Promotes the installation of recycling bins within residential buildings.
- Buildings are invited to register for participation.
- Recycling competitions will be organized to incentivize resident involvement.
- Extended Access: More "Eco-Fun" recycling points and extended operating hours will be added to accommodate working professionals and weekend recycling.
