A musical adaptation of the classic Chinese folk legend The Butterfly Lovers (Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai).
Zhu Yingtai disguises herself as a man to attend school, where she meets the scholar Liang Shanbo. They study together for three years, spending day and night in each other's company, yet Shanbo never discovers her true identity. When Yingtai's father arranges her marriage to the Ma family, she must leave the academy in haste. Shanbo accompanies her on the journey to bid her farewell.
On the road of the 'Eighteen Farewells,' Yingtai falls into a cycle of repetition. She witnesses the same stories unfolding around her again and again: the same jokes, the same bitter melon soup, the same chess matches, the same banquets... In this loop, the silent riddles she and Shanbo share beneath the mountain become her most cherished, romantic memory. Faced with the dawn of a new day, will Yingtai choose to remain in this beautiful, frozen moment, or will she embrace the transformation, becoming a butterfly in a dream to fly towards the day after tomorrow?
