Upcycling Workshops Return!

The long-awaited series of old clothes upcycling activities is back! Instructors will teach the secrets of giving old clothes a new life through eco-friendly techniques, allowing you to practice a waste-reducing lifestyle together.

Workshop Details

1. Hair Band Workshop

Can clothes be worn and also worn as accessories? Participants are welcome to bring their idle old clothes to be transformed into unique hair bands, adding color to life and discovering more possibilities of upcycling.

• Date: September 17, 2022 (Saturday)
• Time: 11:00–12:00
• Target: Parent-child pairs (children 6+) and the general public

2. Table Mat Workshop

Worn-out clothes can still radiate warmth. Combining weaving design, transform old garments into table mats, adding a touch of fun to daily life. Experience the possibilities of upcycling and learn to cherish the resources we have.

• Date: September 17, 2022 (Saturday)
• Time: 15:00–16:30
• Target: Individuals aged 16 or above

3. Tote Bag Workshop

The production of textiles, from cotton cultivation, weaving, dyeing, to finishing, consumes vast amounts of human and material resources. For instance, making one piece of clothing requires 2,720 liters of water—enough for one person to drink for three years, based on a daily intake of 2.5 liters! Discarded fabrics and old clothes still have great uses. Instructors will share tips and creative ideas for making tote bags. While sewing your unique bag, you'll learn the clever thinking behind upcycling.
