Donate Bras for Love Charity Drive

A charitable initiative to support women in Africa, organized by New Generation Magazine in collaboration with Guang Xing Communication and Macau Indonesia Street.

Event Details

• Collection Dates: August 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, and 25, 2013
• Purpose: Collecting used bras to support the work of the NGO Free the Girls, which helps women who have escaped sexual slavery in places like Mozambique. In these regions, secondhand bras are a luxury item and can be sold for a good price, providing income and a path to a new life.

Donation Guidelines

• Accepted Items: Clean, intact, and functional bras of the following types: regular bras, sports bras, training bras, and shaping bras.
• Not Accepted: Excessively damaged, heavily stained, or severely deformed bras. Lingerie-style, corset-style, or bralette-style items are also not accepted.
• Preparation: Please place bras in a bag before donating.

Background

Globally, an estimated 27 million people live in slavery, 80% of whom are women and girls. This drive supports Free the Girls, which provides a sustainable income source for survivors by enabling them to sell secondhand bras. The collected bras from Macau will be sent to a collection point in Taiwan, supported by the Taiwanese lingerie company Xiang Zi Ti.
