About the Competition

"Decent Work" is a fundamental right for all workers, encompassing full protection, reasonable remuneration, comprehensive social security, and adequate employment opportunities.

The Youth Committee of the Macao Federation of Trade Unions is organizing the "Decent Work, Small Improvements: Youth Essay Competition 2018" - Season 3. Macau residents aged 18-45 are welcome to submit their entries.

Theme: "Salute to Educators"

Competition Details

• Target Participants: Macau residents aged 18-45.
• Submission Period: Season 3: September 9 – September 30, 2018, until 11:59 PM.
• Submission Method: Upload entries via Facebook Messenger to the Macao Federation of Trade Unions Youth Committee page.
• Entry Requirements: Each entry must be no more than 400 words. Include the note: "Participating in: Decent Work, Small Improvements Youth Essay Competition 2018 - Season 3," along with your name and contact number.

Awards & Prizes

• Submission Incentive: Each submitted entry grants one chance in a lucky draw. At the end of each season, 10 lucky winners will be randomly selected by computer to receive a custom laser-engraved 10,000mAh power bank.
• Final Judging: All entries will be reviewed by a professional panel in December. The top 10 essays will be selected for public voting. The final winners will receive:
  • Champion: Prize worth MOP 1,000.
  • 1st Runner-up: Prize worth MOP 800.
  • 2nd Runner-up: Prize worth MOP 500.
• Seasonal Draw Announcement: The lucky draw winners will be announced on the Facebook page on October 8 at 7:00 PM.

Important Notes

1. Participation implies authorization for the organizer to use the submitted text, participant's name, and other provided information on the Youth Committee's Facebook Messenger and other platforms for promotional, publishing, or media purposes.
2. Winners will be notified by the organizing institution.
3. Personal information is solely for prize collection and will not be used for other purposes.
4. Participants found plagiarizing, infringing copyright, or providing false information will be disqualified and bear full responsibility.
5. Seasonal prize winners cannot win the same prize again. The activity is limited to Macau residents.
6. Grand prize winners cannot win again. The activity is limited to Macau residents.
7. Participants must not upload inappropriate, offensive, or controversial content. The organizer reserves the right to remove such content, and participants bear legal responsibility.
8. The organizer reserves the right to modify the event website, rules, awards, and judging criteria, with updates posted on the event page without prior notice.
9. "Educators" are defined as all workers in the education sector.
