Opening with documentary footage of a former Jewish concentration camp, now a Roma settlement, the film evokes a past whose traces are gone but whose scent remains. Based on a true story adapted by Goran Paskaljević, the narrative follows a retired music professor. He receives a box unearthed from the concentration camp site, containing the secrets of his own origins and the unfinished score of a Jewish musician—his biological father. He discovers he was not a farmer's child; the seed of music was planted by his father long ago. To fulfill his father's final wish, he seeks help from friends but is met with refusal. The protagonist's sorrowful gaze highlights the unending human conflicts of our time, reminding us that forgetting history means having no future. A Cannes Film Festival competition entry.
