Dance Theatre: My Disney
Stories are an indispensable part of everyone's growth experience. Listening to and telling stories are important ways for us to understand the world and express ourselves during childhood. Since the birth of writing, countless stories have been recorded and spread. Among them, Disney's classic fairy tales, as one of the symbols of beauty, have long been deeply rooted in people's hearts.
Unlike other works that retell these beautiful classics, the dance theatre My Disney uses well-known stories as a starting point, selecting three classic characters—Snow White, Cinderella, and The Little Mermaid—to present them in different ways.
- Does Snow White's pure, beautiful, kind, and sweet appearance hide more complex psychological dynamics and social relationships? Is her story merely a simple battle between good and evil?
- From a realistic perspective, are there details of Cinderella's misfortune and innocence that have been overlooked? Could her choices have more possibilities? Do we truly understand the full picture of the story?
- The Little Mermaid chooses self-sacrifice for love, but is her ending with the prince truly as perfect as the story describes? Did all her sacrifices and efforts receive equal rewards?

The creative team hopes that through the different presentations of these classic characters, they can embark on a "return to truth" journey with the audience. Together, they will explore the different layers hidden behind the stories and contemplate the connection between familiar fairy tales and human nature in real society.
