A dance theatre piece inspired by Virginia Woolf's essay The Death of the Moth, weaving together the creator's personal experiences to explore themes of confinement, depression, contradiction, silence, and isolation.
"It flew vigorously to a corner of the window-pane, and, after waiting there a second, flew across to the other corner... What could it do but fly to a third corner and then to a fourth? That was all it could do."
This performance uses Woolf's poignant observation of a moth as a metaphor to delve into the human condition. It asks: Is it a moth? Is it a butterfly? The work contemplates the struggle for self-definition and liberation.
