Overview
Organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the "Cultural Communication Month" is dedicated to integrating art and culture into the daily lives of citizens, enriching public cultural activities, enhancing aesthetic awareness and literacy, discovering beauty in everyday life, and nourishing the soul. Throughout April, the event will feature 15 exciting activities across 4 major themes, aiming to inherit and promote Chinese culture, allowing citizens to understand Macao's diverse culture and historical depth through personal participation.
Event Themes & Activities
1. Inheriting 'Hand' Crafts (傳承‘手’藝)
- Traditional Craft Experiences: Participants can personally bind traditional Chinese thread-bound books, wear Hanfu to experience the traditional hand-rolling incense technique, learn the skills of the Drunken Dragon Dance, and create handicrafts themed around the Fishmongers' Drunken Dragon Festival.
- Objective: To gain a deeper understanding of the value and essence of these crafts, appreciate their profundity, and share the beauty of cultural heritage with family and friends.
2. Art・Taste Space (藝・嘗空間)
- Cultural Environment & Creation: Activities combine with Macao's unique cultural spaces, guiding participants to appreciate World Heritage sites and historical buildings. Creative activities include making tufted rugs, floral design, and more.
- Family Activity: Parents and children can embark on a creative journey at the Macao Literary Museum to foster children's interest and creative abilities in literature.
3. Zero Distance to Arts (藝文零距離)
- Digital Immersive Exhibition: A unique digital experience using simulation technology for an immersive tour of the Ruins of St. Paul's historical landscape.
- School Visits: On-site observation and experience of student life at the Macao Conservatory's Music School and Dance School.
- Backstage Tour: "I am a Little Audience – 'Theatre Backstage Exploration Tour'" allows participants to enjoy a drama performance and go behind the scenes to understand theatre operations up close.
4. Aesthetics Talk (美學說)
- Expert Lectures: Scholars and experts from various fields will host lectures on aesthetics, guiding the audience to observe, appreciate, and enjoy beauty, inspiring greater perception of beauty in daily life.
