About
Organized by CTM and the Telecommunications Bureau, with the support of the Macao Productivity and Technology Transfer Center, the CTM Mobile Apps Design Competition aims to foster creativity and drive the development of Macao's information technology industry.
Mission
With the rapid advancement of communication technology, mobile services have transformed daily life. The diverse functions of smartphones and the variety of mobile applications not only enhance citizens' living and working efficiency but also revolutionize the way people communicate. This competition, themed "Communication," encourages local talent to unleash their creativity and develop innovative mobile applications, providing a platform to showcase talent and create business opportunities for developers.
Competition Details
Categories
- Open Category: For individuals or teams (max 3 members) aged 18 or above holding a Macao Resident Identity Card. Open to working professionals, IT practitioners, and interested individuals.
- Student Category: For individuals or teams (max 3 members) aged 16 or above holding a Macao Resident Identity Card. Open to full-time students in Macao.
Theme
Participants must design a mobile application that facilitates "Communication" across various contexts, such as interpersonal relationships, internal corporate communication, business exchanges, and communication between schools, students, and parents.
How to Enter
- All participants/teams must register via the organizer's website: www.ctmapps.cyberctm.com.
- Eligible participants will receive a confirmation email with instructions for submitting their project proposal.
- All participants must submit their project proposal by the deadline.
Submission Requirements
- Student Category: Submit a proposal of at least 500 words, accompanied by no fewer than three images explaining the design concept, app icon, and design architecture. No actual coding or development is required.
- Open Category: Submit a proposal including the app icon and no more than 30 PowerPoint slides explaining the design concept, system architecture, and user instructions. Participants may choose to develop for iOS or Android platforms.
Technical Standards (Open Category)
- Apps must be compatible with iOS version 4.3+ or Android version 2.2+.
- Must comply with official development guidelines; private APIs are prohibited.
- iOS apps must support resolutions of 960x640 and 1136x640.
- Android apps must support resolutions of 320x480, 480x800, and 480x854.
- Must provide project source code and executable files.
- Multiple entries are allowed per participant/team.
Requirements for Shortlisted Entries
- Shortlisted participants will be notified by email.
- Student Category: Must submit at least 10 PowerPoint slides (may include animation or Flash) elaborating on the design concept, style, and user flow.
- Open Category: Must provide a simulated application with source code and executable files, uploaded to the organizer's cloud platform by a specified date.
- All shortlisted participants must attend the final judging at CTM's premises to present and demonstrate their work within a 20-minute time limit.

Terms and Conditions
