A theatrical exploration of one of history's great scientific and moral enigmas.
Quantum mechanics shook the scientific world and opened the door to the possibility of nuclear weapons. During World War II, both the United States and Germany raced to develop the atomic bomb. In 1941, German physicist Werner Heisenberg traveled to German-occupied Copenhagen to visit the Danish scientist Niels Bohr, the father of quantum mechanics, whom he regarded as a father figure. This meeting, which occurred before the atomic bomb was dropped in 1945, is considered a pivotal moment in its development. With no record of their conversation, its content remains a profound historical mystery—the Copenhagen meeting.
Now, after their deaths, their spirits use memory to search for answers to the questions that haunted them in life. Why did he come? What did he really say? The event is past, but the questions linger.
