About the Project

São Lourenço (Feng Shun Tang) is a district rich with World Heritage architecture, historical context, and cultural intersections, centered around the everyday life of Rua da Praia do Manduco. It is home to many long-time Macao residents, especially the older generation who have witnessed decades of community development and change. Their stories offer a deeper understanding of the city's narrative. Documentary photography, which records reality and reflects the present, holds unique value as a social witness and for preserving history.

The "Community Silhouette" project invites everyone to pick up their cameras and capture moments worth preserving. Through three themed photography workshops and a "Time Photo Studio" event, we aim to document the present. Furthermore, the project seeks to collect old photographs from residents of São Lourenço and the stories behind them. These materials will be compiled and presented in a final exhibition to piece together a complete "Community Silhouette."
