As a vital hub for East-West cultural exchange, Macao has evolved over centuries to develop its unique cultural atmosphere. Each district of Macao embodies distinct characteristics and community spirit. This competition invites participants to capture the unique scenery of Macao's urban districts through the lens of light and shadow, showcasing diverse impressions of Macao from different perspectives and neighborhoods.
Competition Details
1. Entry Categories
- Open Category: Macao residents aged 18 or above.
- Student Category: Macao students aged 13 to 25.
2. Rules
- Photos must be the original work of the entrant.
- Photos must focus on people, events, or objects within the community.
- Photos must be single images, not part of a series, and cannot be digitally altered or composited using software.
- Each participant may submit a maximum of 5 photos.
3. Submission Specifications
- Black & white or color photos are acceptable.
- Photo size must be 10R (10 inches x 12 inches).
- Photos must be mounted on 27cm x 32cm black hard card stock. A white label with the entry number, title, and name must be attached to the back of the mounting board.
4. Prizes
Open Category
- Gold Award: Trophy + MOP 3,000 cash prize.
- Silver Award: Trophy + MOP 2,000 cash prize.
- Bronze Award: Trophy + MOP 1,500 cash prize.
- Five Merit Awards: Certificate + MOP 500 cash prize each.
Student Category
- Gold Award: Trophy + MOP 2,000 cash prize.
- Silver Award: Trophy + MOP 1,500 cash prize.
- Bronze Award: Trophy + MOP 1,000 cash prize.
- Five Merit Awards: Certificate + MOP 200 cash prize each.
5. Submission Package
- Completed application form.
- Physical photo(s) mounted as specified.
- Copy of ID card.
- Digital file(s) of the photo(s).
6. Submission Method & Deadline
- Package all items in an envelope clearly marked with the competition name.
- Submit in person to the Workers' Union Northern District Integrated Service Centre.
- Submission Period: July 25, 2013 – August 25, 2013.

- Representatives from the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (工聯總會) and the Photographic Society of Macao (澳門攝影學會).
- Responsible personnel from the Workers' Union Northern District Integrated Service Centre.
9. Results Announcement
- Winners will be notified individually by phone.
10. Exhibition & Award Ceremony

- Submitted photos will not be returned to participants.
