Overview
Part of the "Co-Imagine, Co-Live" community art project, this training program aims to equip participants with the teaching skills for disability arts and provide an understanding of the local community arts scene in Macao. Through workshops and hands-on practice, participants will serve as teaching assistants, design and execute class content, and assist with performance rehearsals.
This program is recognized as a training project by the Macao Social Work Professionals Council.

Program Objectives
- Understand the theory of expressive arts and the current state of community arts in Macao.
- Learn interaction techniques with persons with disabilities and the basic application of special education skills.
- Gain experience as a disability arts teaching assistant, designing and executing class content, and assisting with rehearsals to enhance teaching skills and social practice.

Phase 1: Training Sessions
- June 23 (Mon): 19:00 – 21:00 @ Cardinal Newman Hall (55 Rampa do Bairro da Vitória)
- June 28 (Sat): 14:45 or 17:00 (Watch a performance) @ Macao Cultural Centre - Black Box Theatre I
- June 30 (Mon): 19:00 – 21:00 @ Cardinal Newman Hall
- July 2 (Wed): 19:00 – 21:00 @ Cardinal Newman Hall
Phase 2: Practical Teaching Assistant Placement (July – September)
- Select 4 classes (6 hours total).
- Every Monday, 14:00 – 15:30.
- Location: Macau Special Olympics Yijin Integrated Service Centre (Unit C, G/F & 1/F, Block 5, Lok Kuan Building, Rua de Lok Koi, Coloane)
Phase 3: Practical Lead Teacher/Rehearsal Assistance (October – December)
- Select 6 classes (9 hours total).
- Every Monday, 14:00 – 15:30.
- Location: Macau Special Olympics Yijin Integrated Service Centre (Unit C, G/F & 1/F, Block 5, Lok Kuan Building, Rua de Lok Koi, Coloane)
Certification
- Participants who complete all required hours will receive a certificate of attendance.
- Recognized by the Macao Social Work Professionals Council for 6 hours (Participants must attend all sessions and complete a total of 22 hours of classes and practice).
