Chuangzhi Drama Society holds a large-scale annual production every year to showcase our year-long efforts and creations to our loyal audience and the general public. Following the acclaim and support for our 2012 production "Us," we are proud to present its spin-off, "Them.
"Them" shifts the perspective to explore the female experience. The play follows four women with different backgrounds and personalities as they navigate the contradictions and struggles of growing up. It invites the audience to experience and savor the lives of "them" at ages eighteen, twenty-eight, and thirty-eight. The story explores how women, as adults, can still love life and live authentically amidst social changes, life pressures, and the constraints of traditional culture.
The story follows four girls with different backgrounds and personalities, each with their own outlook on life and values. What they share is a romantic hope for the future. As they chase their futures, they support each other yet constantly compare themselves. They make a pact: at age 38, they will choose among themselves the happiest woman.
Four different women, four different career paths, four different love stories—who will be deemed the happiest, most fulfilled, and most successful?
