Overview

As December approaches, bringing the universally celebrated Christmas season, the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM) continues its annual "Christmas Warmth and Joy for Children" campaign. Launched in 2004, this initiative aims to share festive joy with children in need and encourage public care for underprivileged children and youth in the community. Over the past twelve years, the campaign has received an enthusiastic response from citizens and social organizations, raising over MOP 2.7 million and sharing holiday happiness with more than 24,000 children.

Campaign Details

• Campaign Period: November 12 to December 11, 2016 (30 days)
• Activity: Gift sponsorship and fundraising drive.
• Co-organizer: Caritas Macau continues to co-organize the event and is responsible for preparing the gifts.

How to Participate

1. Sponsor a Gift for Local Children

• Cost: MOP 120 per gift.
• Process: Citizens or organizations can sponsor a gift for MOP 120. All proceeds will be transferred to Caritas Macau to purchase Christmas gifts.
• Delivery: Sponsored gifts, along with greeting cards, will be distributed to needy children and youth in Macau through the following beneficiary organizations:
  • Coloane St. Joseph's House
  • Fonte da Esperança
  • Casa Verde
  • Casa de Crianças de Nossa Senhora da Graça
  • Centro de Desenvolvimento da Criança
  • Centro de Apoio aos Surdos
  • Mong Ha Youth Home
  • Macau Federation of Neighborhood Associations
  • Macau Federation of Trade Unions
  • Women's General Association of Macau
  • St. James' Settlement
  • St. Louis School
  • Caritas Iao Hon Family Integrated Service Centre
  • APPCML Child Protection Centre

2. Donate to International Aid Projects

To extend warmth beyond Macau and help more children in need, the campaign has expanded its international partnerships this year.

• Donation: A cash donation of MOP 200.
• Beneficiaries: Donations will support the following projects:
  • Orbis Macau: Supports Orbis's children's eye care network in Nepal.
  • World Vision Macau: Funds nutritional meal programs for children in street child centers.
  • Caritas Macau: Provides urgent aid projects for Syrian refugee children.
