Lio Kuok Man
Entering the 20th century, with the development of popular music cultures such as jazz and musicals, the Western music scene gradually broke down the boundaries between "classical" and "popular," with the trend of fusion becoming increasingly prominent. This concert will showcase the infinite charm born from the collision and fusion of classical and popular music through the works of two representative "crossover" composers, George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein. Lio Kuok Man, both a conductor and a pianist, will personally perform the piano solo in Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, skillfully blending the piece's jazz style with the classical concerto form.
