About the Macao International Parade

The Macao International Parade is an annual grand artistic parade organized by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, co-organized by multiple departments and units, and strongly supported by community groups. Since its first edition in 2011 under the name 'Macao Latin City Parade', it has become one of the annual festivities celebrating Macao's return to China and a major cultural brand event for the city. In 2017, it was renamed the 'Macao International Parade', aiming to continue its internationalization and showcase Macao's unique urban charm to the world.

2019 Edition: Theme 'Belt and Road'

This year's parade theme is 'Belt and Road'. It invites performing troupes from around the world and local artistic elites to jointly showcase the unique cultural colors of countries along the Belt and Road and Macao. The event fosters cultural integration and promotes interactive exchanges in arts and culture, adding joy and celebration to Macao's Handover anniversary while promoting local cultural characteristics and deepening understanding of Belt and Road nations.

  • 15:00 – Opening Ceremony (Ruins of St. Paul's)
  • 18:30 – Handover Celebration (Sai Van Lake Square)
• Parade Route: Starts at the Ruins of St. Paul's, passes through the characteristic Largo do Senado and Cathedral Square, proceeds along the lively Avenida da Praia Grande, and culminates at Sai Van Lake Square.
• Concept: The parade spreads the message of 'Love, Peace, and Cultural Integration', turning it into one of the largest events celebrating the Macao Handover.
