To celebrate the Year of the Goat, the Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IACM), Cultural Affairs Bureau, and Sports Bureau have organized a series of cultural, entertainment, and sports activities during the Lunar New Year period for citizens to enjoy together.

Event Highlights

• Opening Ceremony: February 18 (New Year's Eve) at 4:00 PM in Tap Seac Square. Features the 12 Zodiac animals, the Gods of Fortune, Prosperity, and Longevity, performances by the "Chongqing Bafeng Yuyun Art Troupe" and the "Happy Goat Puppet Troupe," along with Chinese music and lion & dragon dances.
• Golden Dragon Parade: February 19 (First Day of Lunar New Year) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, parading from the Ruins of St. Paul's to Senado Square. Includes lion dance troupes, the 12 Zodiac animals, the Gods of Fortune, and Happy Goat puppets greeting the public.
• Special Performances: The "Chongqing Bafeng Yuyun Art Troupe" presents free ethnic cultural performances at various locations.
• Lion Dance Competition: "Lion Dance New Year Competition Show" on February 21 at Senado Square (11:00 AM) and February 22 at Tap Seac Square (4:30 PM).

About the Chongqing Bafeng Yuyun Art Troupe

Founded in 1998, the troupe is dedicated to exploring and promoting the ethnic folk culture of the Chongqing region. They aim to enhance and elevate the rich artistic and cultural heritage of the Han, Tujia, Miao, and other ethnic groups in the Ba-Yu area, creating distinctive local cultural productions. They have won numerous dance and song awards and have performed in many cities across China.
