Event Overview
Macau is a city of multicultural fusion, bringing together customs and traditions from different regions. The third Sunday of January each year marks the traditional Filipino festival of Sinulog. On this day, the Filipino community in Macau gathers to celebrate with a series of vibrant activities.
Event Schedule
- Mass Celebration: 10:30 AM at St. Lawrence's Church (聖老楞佐堂)
- Celebrations at Friendship Square (友誼廣場):
- Filipino food stalls open from 12:00 PM (noon)
- The highlight is the festive parade from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM
- Festive Parade Route:
- Starts at Friendship Square
- Passes through Avenida do Comércio (商業大馬路), Avenida da Praia Grande do Lago Nam Van (南灣湖景大馬路), and Sai Van Lake (西灣湖)
- Performers with painted faces and elaborate costumes dance along the route, offering a unique festive experience for residents and visitors.
- Finale Dance Competition: Held back at Friendship Square from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, showcasing unique Filipino dance steps.
