"It's like seeing too many people here—doctors, teachers, bosses. No matter how glorious they were before, when they reach a certain age, they have no choice but to accept this reality. Just like that, letting others touch them, care for them. That kind of feeling is really indescribable."
Everyone has the potential to become a caregiver. When those around us enter their later years or encounter accidents, they need care. The rapid pace of modern society easily creates life pressures, and social taboos surrounding end-of-life needs significantly increase the burden on caregivers.
The stories of caregivers need to be heard by society. In the initial phase, Comuna de Pedra partnered with Zero Distance Cooperative to collect stories from Macau caregivers at community centers using Playback Theatre. After collection, the creators present these stories in stages through artistic creation. The work aims to present the difficult path caregivers face while encouraging the audience to reflect on what they would need if they were to walk that path themselves.
