As part of the opening series of events for the Macau Cardinal Newman Art and Culture Centre, we present a Landscape Sketching Experience. In daily life, besides using a camera to record moments, a paintbrush can also capture observations and emotions, creating unique works of art. Sketching trains artists to quickly depict and record subjects in a short time, helping to cultivate observation skills, improve drawing techniques, and accumulate rich material for creative work.
The Macau Cardinal Newman Art and Culture Centre features unique architecture and a tranquil environment, rich in religious and historical culture. It is especially suitable for landscape sketching under the sunlight with dancing tree shadows. The experience will introduce basic pencil sketching techniques and atmosphere handling, followed by on-site sketching practice and sharing.
