About Cantonese Opera

Cantonese Opera (Yueju Opera) is a performing art sung in Cantonese with a history of over 300 years. Prevalent in Guangxi, Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau, it is the most influential multi-tune opera genre in Southern China. It is listed under 'Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity' by UNESCO.
