About Cantonese Opera
Cantonese Opera is a traditional performing art from Southern China, combining song, dance, music, elaborate costumes, and stylized acting. It was officially recognized by UNESCO in 2009 and inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
City Cantonese Opera and Music Performance 2014
- Festival Period: March 27 – June 28, 2014
- Details: The 18th edition of this festival invited overseas and local artists to perform special Cantonese opera and music programs. Many performances were free.
- Closing Performance: The festival concluded with the classic comedy "Lion's Roar" on June 28, 2014, at 7:45 PM.
