Book Exchange 2023
As part of the "Reading City Series – 2023 Macao Library Week," the Cultural Affairs Bureau is launching a "Book Exchange" collection drive to promote reading culture and encourage book lovers to share resources.
Book Collection Details
- Collection Period: From now until April 9, 2023 (Sunday)
- Collection Hours:
- Monday: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM
- Tuesday to Sunday: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Closed on public holidays)
How to Participate
- Bring your books to any of the following participating public libraries under the Cultural Affairs Bureau:
- Macao Central Library
- Ho Yin Garden Library
- Sir Robert Ho Tung Library
- Hoi Weng Library
- Patane Library
- Red Market Library
- Ilha Verde Library
- Mong Ha Library
- Wong Ieng Kuan Library (Hac Sa Wan Park)
- Taipa Library
- Seac Pai Van Library
- Receive a "Book Exchange Points Card" upon submission.
- Exchange your points for books of equal value at the Book Exchange venues on April 22 and 23.
Exchange Rules & Points System
- Books are categorized by their original price.
- Points Calculation: MOP 10 = 1 point (rounded to the nearest point, calculated per book).
- Each point earns one stamp on your card.
- Limits:
- Maximum of 5 duplicate copies per title.
- Maximum of 100 points per book or set.
- Books without a marked price are valued at MOP 10.
Books NOT Accepted for Exchange
- Textbooks, exercise books, and workbooks
- Magazines
- Inappropriate or obscene publications
- Religious publications
- Calligraphy copybooks
- Information technology books published over 1 year ago
- Travel guides published before 2021
- Audio-visual materials
- Promotional materials
- Pirated or non-genuine publications (violating copyright law)
- Damaged, soiled, incomplete sets, or books with writing/annotations inside

- Participation is for individuals only; group registrations are not accepted.
