BOK Festival 2019
Mind the Gap Between the Platform and the Moon
From 99 to 19, Macao has undergone earth-shaking transformations. As a local and grassroots platform for artistic experimentation, the BOK Festival aims to explore the gap between the "platform" and the "moon" through the lens and imagination of contemporary theatre, especially as the Light Rail Transit is about to commence. This gap symbolizes:
While the city is under construction and people are in motion, we set out every day towards an impossible destination. If getting lost along the way is the human condition, this will be a series of journeys exploring identity.
Theatre Experiment: BOK Movement Seven groups of creators from various fields, who have left their places of origin to drift between different cities, will guide you through a series of experimental sessions to fly across the gap between the platform and the moon, attempting to find definition and redefinition in the process.
Community Experiment: M Mode 24 – Self-Definition in St. Lazarus District A 24-hour continuous party curated by the community. An action manifesto by the most ideal, romantic, and representative community shops.
BOK Plus Breaking through the atmosphere, more attempts, more connections...
