As Christmas approaches, a kind-hearted brother and sister living in a woodcutter's family watch the rich children across the street enjoying a delicious Christmas feast. Suddenly, a fairy appears and asks them to help find the Blue Bird to cure her daughter's illness. The siblings agree to the fairy's request. She gives them a magical gem that grants the power of speech to all things in the world. Thus, accompanied by Bread, Sugar, Milk, Water, Fire, Cat, and Dog, they embark on a magical journey to find the Blue Bird!
