"Where the past never passes, and the future never arrives." – Black Lake
Two couples reunite, stirring a vortex of grief. Their deceased children were once passionate lovers who went boating in the Black Lake region years ago and never returned. Was it an accident or suicide? German playwright Dea Loher uses repeated dialogues and confessions from the crevices of trauma to reconstruct the path to the departed's death, revealing the helplessness of the living who merely exist.
Little City Experimental Theatre presents a new translation of the German contemporary text Black Lake (Am Schwarzen See). The translation is by a scholar who studied in Germany, directed by resident director Tam Chi Chuen, interpreting the text with minimalist aesthetics. The cast includes Wong Pak Ho, Leong Kin Teng, Tsang Wai Tik, and Hong Kong actor Choi Wan Wah, portraying the intricate relationships between characters and infusing emotional tension.
