Kuan Tai, also known as 'Saintly Emperor Guan' or Guan Yu, is revered as China's 'Martial Saint' and a symbol of loyalty and righteousness. In Macau, he is a widely worshipped deity, with almost every shop displaying a statue of Kuan Tai for protection. The festival celebrating his birthday is a significant traditional folk custom in Macau.
