"Bel Canto Date" is a concert series dedicated to promoting the appreciation of vocal music and establishing a platform for bel canto art exchange. Organized by the Macau Vocal Music Association in collaboration with the Rui Cunha Foundation, this event brings the art of vocal music directly into the community through regular, intimate performances.
The concert features two sopranos from the Macau Vocal Music Association, Li Qili and Li Xiuhong. They will perform a selection of Western bel canto art songs, opera arias, and Chinese art songs, including pieces such as "Silver Moonlight," "The Vow," and "Red Bean Poem." The songs will be performed in their original languages, including Italian and German. Pianist Zhan Qingxin will provide accompaniment.
The Macau Vocal Music Association has earned praise from local music lovers for hosting various concerts last year. Building on this success, the association has partnered with the Rui Cunha Foundation to create this regular "Bel Canto Art Exchange Platform," fostering friendship through music and deepening community engagement with vocal arts.
