Event Overview
Celebrate the birthday of the Northern Deity (Beidi) with a vibrant traditional festival in Taipa's old district. The event features a rich program of rituals, performances, and cultural displays, offering a glimpse into Macau's heritage.
Key Activities & Schedule
- Main Ritual Day (April 12): Incense offerings and the Golden Pig Thanksgiving Ceremony at 12:00 noon.
- Parade: A Golden Dragon and Lion Dance parade through the old streets of Taipa.
- Cantonese Opera Performances (April 11-14, 7:30 PM): Enjoy four nights of traditional 'Shen Gong' opera by the Heung Shan Cantonese Opera Troupe. Featured plays include The Red Plum Story, Feng Yue Jiu Feng Chen, Liu Yi Chuan Shu, and Xue Jian Wu Sha.
- Cultural Exhibition (April 11-15, 24 hours): 'Old Taipa, New City' photo exhibition at the Pak Tai Temple Square.
- Folk Craft Demonstrations (April 11-14, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM): Live demonstrations of paper-cutting, sugar painting, and dough figurine making.
- Traditional Banquet (April 15, 7:30 PM): A Poon Choi (communal dish) banquet, reserved for local senior citizens.
